Sample terms: not a real business
1. Your request and our confirmation
Sending a request through the order page or ringing the studio does not book anything. We reply with a drawing and a fixed price. The order is only made when you accept them and the deposit is paid.
2. Deposit and balance
A 30% deposit secures the date once you accept the drawing and price (sample terms). It is refunded if you cancel 21 or more days before the date; after that it is kept.
The balance is due 7 days before pick-up or delivery day.
3. Cancelling
Cakes are made to your own design and spoil quickly, so the usual 14-day right to cancel a distance order does not apply to them (sample terms). Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, regulation 28(1)(b) and (c), the cancellation period does not cover goods made to the customer’s specifications or goods liable to deteriorate rapidly. We say this before you order, and the deposit rule above still applies.
4. Changes
Colours, wording and flavours can change up to 7 days before your date. A bigger size may need more notice and a new price.
5. Allergens
Everything is made in one small kitchen that handles all 14 major allergens, including gluten, eggs, milk, nuts and sesame, so we can’t call any cake allergen free. Tell us about allergies when you order: we send the full allergen list for your cake in writing before you confirm, and an allergen card goes in the box. (Sample allergen policy for this fictional studio.)
6. Collection and delivery
Cakes leave the studio boxed and checked. After pick-up, keep the box flat and cool. When we deliver a tiered cake, we set it up on site and it is yours from then on.
7. This website
Pipkin Cake Studio is fictional. Nothing on this site is a real offer, and no request, payment or personal detail is sent or stored. See Privacy.
